Check out these ladies, if you get a chance, they are quite expert at what they do. I had the pleasure of a Christmas concert of theirs a few years ago, and their complexity and subtlety raised the bar for me for choirs…
If you’re looking for Thursday night plans, you should check this out:
My choir, Concerto Della Donna, is singing backup-stylz for a bunch
of Canadian pop stars at a CBC Radio 2 concert. The show is
commemorating the 30th International Womens’ Day. Tickets are FREE
and the concert’s at the Spectrum, 8pm this Thursday. While this is not really an opportunity to see CDD do our thing (think
“do-wop” in the background), it IS a chance to take part in a
nationally-broadcasted Canadian Extravaganza. And to hang out at the
Spectrum one last time.http://www.cbc.ca/montreal/community/index.html#frost>Check it out!
You can order tickets online.
If you DO want to hear us sing our regular fare of
obcsure-but-beautiful contemporary arrangements of classical texts,
we’re having our own concert on March 31st at Christ Church Cathedral.
I’ll be sending out info on that soon, but I warn you in advance,
it’s gonna be veeeely veeeely good.——-
Concerto Della Donna is an award-winning women’s chamber choir
directed by the Order-of-Canada-holding Iwan Edwards.
