I went back to Cinema du Parc a few nights ago, to see David Lynch’s latest, and you know what? The new place isn’t so bad. The shock of the renovation only lasts one visit. And, the ugly black and white portraits have been taken down.
I like that they’re showing all of David Lynch’s movies except for Dune, because Lynch wasn’t allowed to cut that film the way he wanted. That was a good call. And, 2 hours and 40 minutes into Inland Empire, I felt like popcorn, and even though the concession stand was closed, one of the employees sold me popcorn at a reduced price. Only because the cash register was empty, mind you, and he couldn’t make change on my 5, but still.
It’s the same place. I think, in my last post, I was just frustrated that Matt Silver wasn’t there anymore to take my ticket. He was delightful.
Oh, and David Lynch’s new movie - definitely worth seeing. It’s like that Lauren Hill song, “Everything is Everything”. But longer.
