Call for Actors, Directors, Theatre Groups for Indyish Assembly 2.0

Want to perform in the Montreal Fringe? Don’t have time to rehearse?

Indyish is calling for actors and directors to take part in Assembly 2.0, a collaborative art project taking place during the Montreal Fringe. It’s a six-week, 4-legged relay, using software from Celtx to pass projects from writers, actors, animators, illustrators, and musicians, but you only need to be in town for 4 days to take part!

Throughout May, writers around the world are creating 10 minute scripts using a short piece of theatre by renowned Fringe artist, TJ Dawe. Groups of actors and directors will have 48 hours to produce the scripts during the Fringe. Meanwhile, the rest of the scripts will be animated by gifmakers. The plays and animations will then be passed to bands who will have 48 hours to write their soundtracks. The final plays and films are being performed and screened at Club Lambi on June 15th and 16th.

We are now recruiting teams of actors and directors to take part in the relay.

You can sign up in a group with other actors, or as an independent actor or director (you will be teamed up with a group). The project is open to anyone able to be in Montreal from June 11th to 16th, 2007.

Companies from other Fringe festivals are welcome to join, for a chance to have some fun and promote their upcoming shows. This is a great opportunity to get some exposure in the Canadian Fringe circuit, meet other artists, make spontaneous art, and be a part of the fabulous Montreal Fringe.
