Blog to the Future - Firsts!

Blog to the Future is the name of a new column I’m starting on Indyish. With nearly 2000 posts published on the Indyish blog over 2 years, I thought it made sense to start pulling some buried gold back to the top in case you missed it the first time round, and also because it’s fun to read in a new context.

The first installment is…“Firsts!”

It seems like most artists who join Indyish are a bit timid to step right out onto the blog stage and type away. They’re afraid they’re doing something wrong, and apologize a lot for “amateurish mistakes”. Hopefully this post will show that, in the beginning, writing on the internet is generally uncomfortable for a lot of people. It’s unknown terrain, and the boundaries are hard to feel out.

But every blogger has a first post. And both the awkward early posts and the confident settled-in voices make for great blog material.

Check out the first Indyish blog posts from the Indyish Team, including co-founders, Risa and Elran from way back when! In cases where someone’s actual first post was an anonymous event preview or the like, I chose the first entry that was a personal reflection or introduction. Enjoy!
