behind the scenes at indyish central

millions of ideas swirling around these days, bumping into things. amidst server hooplah and design reboot and official launch party planning, i am also preparing to defend ye old masters thesis (yes you are a big 3 year old now aren’t you? yes you are). but it’s hard to worry too much about thesising when there’s so much (fun) stuff about to hit the fan. i love how the indyish launch is shaping up- as Dominique Cristall, one of our amazing Marketing interns/team said- the quick turn over, the choas, the improvisational aspects are what will make it all super fun. everything kind of gets started the day before, and then goes into a show, and we just see what happens.

we’re especially excited about the Poster Design bonanza right now- because we got our first submission, and it’s wicked.challenge! (french) the race is on! it’s on. also, we were thinking how cool it’s going to be if lots of people send us designs, bc when they’re all displayed people might look at them and find a designer whose style they love and be able to connect with them for band posters or i don’t know what all else, and that’s cool. i like the thought of that a lot.

other things making me giddy like a kiddo- I have booked the two funniest people I know to host the Indyish Show!!!! Darren Curtis and Claire Brosseau and hilarity ensues. (sunday night, August 6th- if you want to book yer tickets in advance watch this place for word, cause it’s a comin).

what else can i tell you… oh, we’re refining the concept for the 24 hour movie making competition. i’m not going to tell anyone exactly what it is before we hand out the envelopes and start the competition on august 5th, but i can tell you this: part of the challenge will be to incorporate text- either as dialogue or graphically.

hmm.. and i have plenty of news and ideas on the contents of the 24 hour CVP kits. but i’m not telling.
