Become An Official Indyish Volunteer

With our continued growth, Indyish.com is in need of some help. Starting with our February 29th Dress Mess, we’ll be looking to recruit a body of volunteers to help us with the planning, execution and documentation of events.

If you’ve ever wondered how you could help, here’s where you can start. Email us - Tristan@Indyish.com - to sign up for any of the following volunteer positions. Some have specific requirements while most only ask that you have a sunny disposition.

Also, we’ll be hosting our first Volunteer Training Session next week at Studio 300. All we need is an hour of your time to give you a run of the venue, walk you through tasks and let you sign up for shifts. The session will be held from 6-7pm on Tuesday February 26th, quick briefing and maybe quick beers. Here are the positions we are looking to fill:

Event Volunteer
This is our first and most general job. We need volunteers to man the door at the Mess, help the bar staff and help our stage/sound tech set up the acts. Each shift is 3 hours long (6.30pm-9.30pm, 9pm-Midnight and Midnight to 3am) and gets you a free drink as well as special staff pricing for the rest of the night.

Bar Tenders
To man the bar, we are looking for 2 mildly experienced individuals to hold down the fort for each of the two shifts, the 7-11pm shift or 11-3am shift. Bar tenders get special staff pricing on drinks and 2 free drinks.

Video Volunteer
Got a digital video camera and the savvy to put it to good use? We need two or 3 able bodied camera wranglers to shoot the Mess over the course of the evening. If DV tapes are required, they will be provided. These volunteers will only be needed over the course of the show (which will be over by midnight). You’ll earn 2 free drinks and staff pricing.

Video Editor Volunteer
This is a post-event position. We need an enthusiastic individual to staff a computer the day after the event and edit the footage shot by our video volunteers into something we can mount on Indyish.com.
X free drinks will be provided to you at the event. You will also be handed whatever media you will need at the end of the event if you are available.

Photographer Volunteer
Documenting the Mess is key to making Indyish.com the hub for all post documentation. We need a couple able bodied photographers (with their own cameras) to come and shoot each performer/presenter. Photographers get 2 free drinks and staff pricing. We ask that you also bring the necessary connection tools to upload your photos at the event.

Audio Volunteer
It might be great to have a separate WAV recording of the event audio, to synch with Ithe cameras. f you have the gear for this and would like to help, heavens to betsy hon, get in touch!
