  It all started about ten years ago, when Amber and Erin met in the hallways of a small Montreal high school. Or maybe it started long before that when Erin looked up to her Metallica-loving older brother or when Amber jammed out cover tunes with her first ba... [more»]nd in a suburban basement. All that is really known is that the two ladies live steps away from each other and write songs together to this day. Recently, one Jeremy MacCuish scrambled aboard this pirate ship after one “Famous” Eric Lapointe needed to stay ashore to become a papa! Welcome Jeremy; yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!
  
  In May of 2008 Nightwood released their first recording, the Big City E.P., with the support of Grenadine Records. The six song E.P. release was quickly followed up with great reviews, some fun tours and ridiculous music videos. The band has been described in a variety of ways including “happy, cocky grrrl goths,” “deux filles qui ont du chien,” and “Montreal’s own take on the lovely lady-smacked scene of dark, moody rock,” among other vagaries. At the moment, Nightwood is preparing to record their first full length and are pleased as punch! Hive fives all around! [«less]
