About: Hello. I play piano, sing, and dance. Those are the artistic manifestations of my self :-)
I’ve worked in non-profit organizations, advertising, artist management, organized several small and not-so-small events, managed booking, PR, and the list goes on. I currently work for an entertainment lawyer, mostly within the digital music world, taking on the occasional booking, management, and licensing contracts.
I’m driven by the desire to empower people, which is a main goal of Mess. Montreal. Indyish is empowering artists in a very real way, and we at Mess. are very excited to be collaborating with such a fine group of people.
Mess. Montreal was born out of Natalie Riviere's and my experience in both artistic and business environments. As singers in a band, we quickly realized how difficult it was to track down accurate and helpful resources, be it for booking a show or printing posters, finding a coach or space to practice. As John Molson School of Business grads, we realized how many aspects of the indie cultural scene lacked some basic, simple business sense. We began to find ways in which we could use our knowledge and experience to help our artist friends in their careers. We also pushed our natural tendency to network to a more conscious and structured level. This process is what created Mess. Montreal, a framework that will manifest itself through an online network, events, consultation, and more. The goal is to facilitate the transmission of an artistic message, be it for the artist sending it or the public ready to receive it.
