About: Patricia Chica is an award-winning director, producer and visual artist who specializes in innovative drama, conceptual music videos and high-end TV programming with an artistic flair. She also has extensive experience working internationally on docu-drama and reality-based television series for networks such as MTV, Oxygen, National Geographic, Discovery Networks, and the Bravo! Arts Channel.

Since her directorial debut in 1990, Patricia’s motivation has been to blur the line between fine art and commercial work. In the past decade she has been working professionally as a director, concept writer, series producer, story editor, video artist and photographer who combines technology, sensuality and design within her work. Driven by originality; she always tries to push forward the creative boundaries of storytelling by focusing on innovative techniques for narration and daring post-production effects. However, Patricia’s visual style is more than just poetic, as it is often described as gritty within a humanistic setting. Patricia’s multidisciplinary approach permits her to create astonishing visuals both on set and in post. Moreover, she has a natural sense of storytelling and style that transcends concepts and make them come alive. Her productions consistently get extensive press coverage as well as great audience response. Broadcasters from Canada, the USA and Europe, and numerous international film festivals have presented her work.

Currently, Patricia and Mike Wafer are shooting in Canada and the USA their upcoming rockumentary entitled Rockabilly 514 about the rockin' subculture. The film has been pre-sold to two networks and will come out in early 2007 on Bravo! and the film festivals’ circuit. Stay tuned!
