This from the Loose Joints lads.. we’re excited to spend inordinate amounts of time with their groove things (oy!) during the Fringe June 7-17 ahhhh. We’ve been lucky enough to help get them plugged into the fest, rockin it like nightly, sometimes at the outdoor site and sometimes in the ‘Fringe Club’ Lambi. Yes, a fricken slap happy disco fringe yo. Get a preview on Friday night..

Montreal ’s only disco night invites one and all to bear witness as the mighty Philgood (Philippe Granja) makes his long-rumoured return to Loose Jointsville, population: you.

Philgood played his first gigs as a kid while staying with his aunt and uncle in Hong Kong. Back in Montreal, he set to work on his own parties, booking acts like Autechre and The Orb. He’s no slouch behind the turntables, either: Richie Hawtin and Green Velvet are just a couple of the A-list record-rubbers he’s shared the bill with, and it’s not hard to see why.

This Friday, the consummate crowd-pleaser reaches deep into his record collection for an unmissable night of forgotten faves and future classics. Miss it at your own peril!
