A whole new interview- with blackmission

by Risa Dickens

question one from indyish for Nadia Bunyan of blackmission:
when and how did you start making clothes?

I started drawing clothes when I was in elementary school. instead of
listening to my teacher, my friend and I would draw picture after
picture of girls in different outfits. It was the first time I ever
did anything with any real passion. It wasn’t that I loved to draw,
it was that I loved to put together outfits and come up with designs.
In highschool, I started taking apart and adjusting my clothes, I
discovered studs and lace and sparkle fabric paint. How tacky does
that all sound together. Finally when I went to Lasalle, I started to
make actual garments, and now I am just focusing on how to combine my
passion and creative drive with my practical knowledge to build the
quintessential blackmission look.
