A look back on the Halloween Monthly Mess

by Marilis Cardinal

Here I am once again, blogging from the Indyish headquarters and getting ready to set out with Risa to discover the location of the next mess. Of course, it will come as no surprise that, as always, I present to you the photos from the last mess, and what a mess it was! When we settled on making the mess on Halloween, a few weeks back, I was somewhat skeptical. Don’t get me wrong, I always have an amazing time, but would our faithful mess-goers skip their various Halloween parties to come spend the evening with us? I guess so! I’m usually more in the loop with the goings on of the mess, but seeing as Josh and Risa had done pretty much all of the planning for this one, I just sat and enjoyed the show. I had never been to Les Passages, and I definetly missed out on that part! This little treasure of a bar hidden on Mentana (past St-Laurent and St-Denis), where I hardly ever venture even though it’s just a street down from where I live, is the perfect example of why we keep the Monthly Mess on the road. In addition to meeting amazing artists, there’s always the pleasure of being introduced to a great venue that you’ve probably never heard of or been to but would certainly like to return. I think I’ll stop blogging now, I’ve been writing this post for nearly an hour and Risa is dragging me out of her house. But check out the pictures in the gallery and Franco did a better job then I ever could at giving an overview of the event, so make sure you check it out here!
