4 new Community Developers!

by Risa Dickens

All I’ll say for now is that all 4 of my chosen Community Developers have gotten back to me with a confirmed yes that they’re down. This is exciting. It feels like a new era dawning or something. There is so much potential packed into the site we’ve been building, and so much more in the network of individuals loosely connected by virtue of this, that I think we’ve only begun to do the cool work we can do together. There are other people beyond these 4 who I am very much delighted to have involved, and thankful for their interest and enthusiasm, and who I think will be seriously valuable help to us and to these 4 leaders, but these guys in specific seem to have time and skills required, and a quiet energy that to me communicates high levels of follow through. We’ll see, but for now- prospects are good. Today I was listening to the music/spoken word stuff that one of the new members of our team makes, and got an email from another about a reading she’s giving of her work next week, and set up meetings with the other two to give an introductory tour of the website and get scheming for future art making events like rogue music video making gangs, and maps of the city’s designer scene, and indyish magazines, and other artful gateways to some of the many “underground’s”. Suffice it to say, there’s lots happening, and we’re happy about it.
