Holla-Days MVMC: Dec 16-17 2006.
24hr MVMC - Get a song, make a video. How hard can it be?
Video makers: You can help us give some great bands an awesome holiday gift, and gain some exposure and experience for yourself, by spending one night making your best music video. Amateurs and Pros and surprising concepts and techniques are more than welcome. Videos will be watched and judged by members of the 3 bands. Each band picks a winner, which will get screened the night of the party where the bands will all play.
Partners:

Pop Montreal is bringing the bands: local booty-bass dirty synth rap duo, ThunderHeist, minimal electrofolk witty wordists, Bold Saber, and funky posing princess, Giselle Numba One. The bands get to choose which of their recorded songs they’d like a music video made for. Many thanks go out to everyone involved in making this event happen.
There will be three winning teams, one for each band.
Three winners, three prize packs. Prize packs will include Posters, t’s, c.d’s, Arcade Fire posters + Unicorns shirts and lots more surprising stuff donated by POP Montreal.
All the videos that get made will be posted on Indyish.com, with the artists names and team names prominent. They can also be posted by you or me or anyone on YouTube, Jumpcut, Revver, Myspace, your space and anywhere and everywhere else you can think of, maybe even go viral and make you famous, because of their CC Attribution license (see note on licenses below).
All the videos that get made will also be screened at a wrap party Dec 20th, where they’ll ALL be considered by special guest judge Maxime Giroux.
Indyish bloggers will take note of all his comments and get them online so everyone can learn from this successful professional music video makin artist.
International Participation in this MVMC is welcomed and encouraged.
The Rules:
How it Works:
Important:
Participation in the project (ie submitting a video) constitutes agreement to the following:
The results of the indyish 24 Hour Music Video Making Challenge are licensed with a Creative Commons Attribution license, which allows Indyish and anyone else to use the combination of music video and song in their own ways, even commercial or mashup ways, so long as they attribute the work properly.
This license will only affect the final, “submitted” version of the video. Any subsequent edits made by the original video makers and the band, constitute a new work, which is owned by a limited partnership between these participants. It is up to these parties to discuss future terms of use. If you get actors involved, they must also agree to these terms.
Notes:
1. The cost to see the Show in the evening will be $7.00 (general admission). MVMC participants will receive a $2.00 discount on their show ticket at the door.
2. Holiday Bonus: Indyish will subtract $1.00 off the Show ticket price for every non-perishable food item you bring with you to the door. These will be collected and included in the Mile End Mission Christmas Baskets.
3. Also, if you can’t get your video to convert to DVD format, bring it in anyway and we’ll try and help you, or play it off the camera (but there’s no guarantees).
